Thanks for dropping by. Again. Here are some recent updates for you:
Apparently, due to a number of unforeseen circumstances, we had to postpone our initially announced primary shooting schedule to a later stage. But nonetheless, we have been rather busy and actually did the first filming from November 2014 up until November 2015. As it turned out, we had to go to London for three times (!) as well as to Berlin, and, of course, we did some shooting in our beloved hometown Hamburg.
To give you an idea of the last twelve months of production, here’s list of locations, events and interviews we did (see also the project updates on our News page for details and some pictures), and which will hopefully make you curious about the final movie:
- London/UK Part I: Interviews with Sue Blane and Terry Ackland-Snow as well as shooting at the Oakley Court
- Screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Hamburgs most traditional program theatre „MAGAZIN”
- The Rocky Horror 40th Anniversary Party at Freiluftkino Rehberge, Berlin-Wedding
- The Rocky Horror Picnic Show at Oakley Court, Windsor
- London/UK Part II: Interviews with Pat Quinn, Peter Suschitzky, Michael White, Annabel Leventon and Lindsay Ingram (among others)
- The Rocky Horror 40th Anniversary Screening at the Royal Albert Hall (feat. Pat and Nell)
- London/UK Part III: Interviews with Rayner Bourton and Andrew Logan
For the upcoming winter season we will rest and start processing our already acquired footage, like screening the interviews, working on some rough cuts and graphics, do some more research, and maybe produce one or the other spin-off for you to enjoy prior to the final documentary.
For 2016 we’ve planned yet another visit (or two, depending on the availability of our interview partners and a few important locations) to London as well as trips to Los Angeles, New York and most likely Australia. The next round of shooting will start presumably in March and will last until the end of June or possibly July. Afterwards, we’ll start the final postproduction to have a finished product by end of the year, hopefully.
Wishing you all a merry Christmas Season and hope to see you next year.

(40 years of) Madness takes it’s toll.
The Rocky Horror Phenomenon is an international documentary about the show, the movie, the original cast and crew, and the devoted fans who’ve made R H the undeniable, seemingly timeless, sensation it still is, even after so very many years.
We’re going to look deep within the creation of the show and the movie. We’ll be speaking with all available cast and crew members. And we’re going to timewarp the audience back to 1974 to that amazing stretch of creativity between October and December of that year, and back to the original sets and to where the film was shot in that shaken up old castle in southern England.
Our goal is to leave no question unanswered — paying heed to even the most obscure threads, to even the tiniest shreds — in order to discover, flesh out, and illuminate the incomparable phenomenon of R H.
The original stage and the later film production took place more than 40 years ago and, so, most of the original cast and crew are already in their late sixties or beyond. Therefore, there could not be any more opportune time than right now to get most of these people in front of the camera.
We’re well aware that over the past four decades there are few questions that haven’t been asked and almost no story left untold about R H. But these anecdotes and bits and pieces of information are spread all over the place… cloistered away in interviews, books, magazines, films and, of course, the Internet. Our aim is to gather all these facts, reassemble them, and solve the puzzle in order to answer the one big question: the why and the wherefore of the R H phenomenon. We’re decidedly not interested in rehashing what’s already been written and filmed. We want to dig deep, asking the right persons the right questions to uncover the as yet, unknown, or not widely-known, stories.
An additional focus of the documentary is the younger generation of fans, with their view of, and experience surrounding, all things, R H, and why the show and the movie still, so remarkably, has resonance for them today. We’ll also create a ‘Par-tic-i-pation Program’ — employing all social media to involve fans the world over in the documentary.
After pre-production and some initial production in late 2014, principal shooting will run from February through April 2015, followed by three months of post-production and clearance. The release is scheduled for September 2015.
